Netflix has added several new names to the cast of its upcoming comedy ‘One Attempt Remaining,’ with Yara Shahidi, Larry Wilmore, Nyambi Nyambi, and Abdul Seidu joining the project as production begins in Los Angeles.
Directed by Kay Cannon, the film comes from Netflix alongside 21 Laps Entertainment and Linden Productions. Character details for the newly announced cast members remain under wraps.
As previously announced, Jennifer Garner and John Cena lead the ensemble, which also includes Kate McKinnon and Aimee Carrero.
The film centers on an ex-couple who, years after their acrimonious divorce, discover that the cryptocurrency they won during a chaotic night on a cruise is now worth millions. The problem? They can’t remember the password. With only three days before the account expires, the pair must retrace their steps from that wild night—not only to unlock their fortune, but also to uncover how they fell in love in the first place.
Additional cast members include Gilles Marini, Alan Barinholtz, and Carol Mansell.
The script is written by Joe Boothe and Alexa Alemanni, alongside Cannon. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing for 21 Laps, with Nicole King producing for Linden Productions. Jennifer Garner also serves as a producer on the project.
Executive producers include Kay Cannon, Becca Edelman for 21 Laps, Deanna Barillari for Linden Productions, and Bergen Swanson.
The comedy marks Cannon’s latest feature following her work directing Cinderella and Blockers, continuing her run of ensemble-driven comedic storytelling.
