‘Yellowjackets’ Will End With Season 4 at Paramount+ With Showtime

The wild ride is coming to an end. Yellowjackets has been renewed for a fourth and final season, with its creators confirming that the upcoming installment will officially close the chapter on the series.

We previously reported season 4 was greenlit earlier this year, but the announcement that it will be the show’s last came directly from creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. The decision to end with Season 4 reportedly follows their creative vision and desire to deliver a proper ending, especially after witnessing other series stick the landing with shorter runs.

The writer’s room for the final season is currently open, with production expected to begin in 2026. Season 4 will once again debut on Paramount+ with Showtime.

For those who’ve been following from the beginning, Yellowjackets has always defied easy categorization. Part survival thriller, part psychological horror, and part coming-of-age drama, the show follows a high school girls’ soccer team whose plane crashes in the remote wilderness. What unfolds is a harrowing story of survival that spans decades, exploring how trauma festers—and how secrets can haunt even the most well-constructed adult lives.

Season 3 brought the show to new heights, becoming the most-watched season to date and delivering the biggest episode in series history. The cast featured Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, and Simone Kessell. Elijah Wood returned in a recurring role, and new faces included Hilary Swank, Joel McHale, and Ashley Sutton.

Behind the scenes, Lyle and Nickerson will continue to serve as executive producers and showrunners, alongside Jonathan Lisco, Drew Comins of Creative Engine, Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa, and Brad Van Arragon. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

With just one season left, fans can expect a focused and intentional conclusion to the series that’s kept viewers theorizing since day one. While the show’s end may feel bittersweet, there’s something exciting about knowing that the Hive will get closure—on its own terms.
