Zack Morris (Goosebumps) has joined the recurring cast of HBO Max’s hit medical drama The Pitt ahead of its sophomore season, which is currently in production and set to premiere in January.
Created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells, the series follows the intense, real-time challenges of frontline healthcare workers at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Morris will portray Jackson Davis, a patient admitted to the emergency department after an uncontrollable outburst at his college library.
The cast is led by Noah Wyle, who also serves as executive producer and writer, alongside Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, and Gerran Howell. Season 2 welcomes Sepideh Moafi as a new series regular, with Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, Lucas Iverson, and Lawrence Robinson joining in recurring roles.
Hatosy, fresh off his Emmy nomination, is set to direct the ninth episode of the new season, while Wyle will also step behind the camera. Storylines this season will see Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Wyle) relying on Dr. Jack Abbot (Hatosy) and newcomer Dr. Al-Hashimi (Moafi) as attending physicians, while Abbot’s personal life and lingering grief for his late wife come further into focus.
Elsewhere, LaNasa teased that her character Dana Evans will have a pivotal conversation with Santos (Briones) in episode 6, following unresolved tension from Season 1 surrounding suspicions of Dr. Langdon’s (Ball) drug misuse.
The Pitt’s debut season earned Gotham TV and TCA Awards and scored 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor for Wyle, Guest Actor for Hatosy, and Supporting Actress for LaNasa. The freshman season will also air on TNT.
The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with Wells, Wyle, Erin Jontow, Michael Hissrich, and Simran Baidwan serving as executive producers.
Outside of The Pitt, Morris will next be seen in ABGO and Amazon’s upcoming feature The Bluff, starring alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Karl Urban. Directed by Frank E. Flowers and produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film is scheduled for release in early 2026.
