Inspired by Alicia Keys’ early life in New York City, “Hell’s Kitchen” chronicles the rise of a pop star, while “Stereophonic” delves into the tumultuous world of a rock band facing internal strife.
Challenging these frontrunners is “The Outsiders,” a musical adaptation that secured 12 nominations, including a strong contender for Best Musical. The competition in this category is expected to be intense.
In the realm of Best Play Revival, “Appropriate” stands out with its exploration of family dynamics against a fading plantation backdrop, earning eight nominations. Meanwhile, “Merrily We Roll Along” and “Water for Elephants” garnered seven nods each, showcasing Broadway’s diverse range of storytelling.
The acting categories feature renowned talents such as Daniel Radcliffe, Eddie Redmayne, Rachel McAdams, Sarah Paulson, and Jessica Lange, adding further depth to this year’s Tony Awards lineup.
