‘One Battle After Another’ and ‘Sinners’ Lead the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards Nominations

The 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards nominations are officially here, and they confirm what this awards season has been signaling for months: this is a year defined by bold auteurs, cultural impact, and films willing to take big swings.

Leading the pack are One Battle After Another and Sinners, two Warner Bros. titles that have dominated conversation across critics’ groups, guild awards, and international voting bodies. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another tops this year’s BAFTA field with 14 nominations, translating an unprecedented 16 longlist mentions into one of the strongest showings in the organization’s history. The film now joins an elite group of heavily nominated BAFTA contenders that includes Gandhi, The King’s Speech, and All Quiet on the Western Front—projects that didn’t just compete, but defined their awards years.

Close behind is Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which earned 13 nominations, reinforcing its position as one of the most significant films of the year. The genre-bending vampire epic landed major recognition across directing, writing, acting, and technical categories, marking a milestone moment for Coogler at BAFTA and further cementing the film’s global reach following its record-breaking Oscar performance earlier this season.

Beyond the two frontrunners, this year’s nominations reflect a notably international and filmmaker-driven slate. Hamnet and Marty Supreme followed with 11 nominations each, while Sentimental Value and Frankenstein earned strong eight-nomination showings. British indies and debut features also made their presence felt across categories, underscoring BAFTA’s continued commitment to spotlighting new voices alongside established power players.

With major acting breakthroughs, strong technical recognition, and a Best Film race that remains genuinely competitive, the 2026 BAFTA nominations set the stage for a high-stakes showdown when the awards are handed out on February 22 in London. Below is the full list of nominations as announced.
