SAG-AFTRA officially kicked off awards season on January 7, unveiling the nominations for the 32nd annual ceremony, now rebranded as The Actor Awards. Formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, this marks the first year the honors carry the new name — while continuing the long-standing tradition of recognizing the year’s most outstanding performances in film and television.
The nominations were announced by Abbott Elementary star Janelle James and breakout actor Connor Storrie, with the ceremony set to stream live on Netflix on Sunday, March 1. This year’s Life Achievement Award will be presented to Harrison Ford.
Leading the motion picture conversation are One Battle After Another and Sinners, which emerged as the most recognized films of the year. One Battle After Another topped the list with seven nominations, while Sinners followed closely with five, earning major recognition across acting, ensemble, and stunt categories. Together, the two projects dominate the film field, signaling strong industry support as awards season heads toward its March finale.
