The Critics Choice Association has announced the nominees for the 6th annual Critics Choice Super Awards, honoring the most popular genre films and series across superhero, science fiction and fantasy, horror and action. Winners will be announced via press release on Thursday, August 6.
On the film side, Superman leads with six nominations including Best Superhero Movie, with David Corenswet, Edi Gathegi and Nicholas Hoult all earning acting nominations. Masters of the Universe, Obsession, Project Hail Mary, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Weapons each follow with four nominations apiece.
On the television side, The Boys leads with five nominations including Best Superhero Series. Fallout, House of the Dragon and Paradise each earned four nominations. Angela Bassett earned a nomination for Best Actress in an Action Series for 9-1-1, Sterling K. Brown received two nominations across action and science fiction for Paradise, Harold Perrineau earned a nod for Best Actor in a Horror Series for From, and Taylour Paige received a nomination for Best Actress in a Horror Series for IT: Welcome to Derry. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II also earned a nomination for Best Actor in a Superhero Series for Wonder Man, while Danielle Brooks received a nod for Best Actress in a Superhero Series for Peacemaker.
