It’s the 35th anniversary of Hillman College and their taking their reunion on the road.

In a nostalgic nod to its 35-year legacy, the beloved cast of “A Different World” is reuniting for a national 10 city tour across historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Led by Darryl M. Bell, Charnele Brown, Jasmine Guy, Kadeem Hardison, Dawnn Lewis, Cree Summer, Glynn Turman, and Sinbad, along with producers Susan Fales and Debbie Allen, the tour will feature panels and events aimed at honoring the show’s cultural impact.

Atlanta, Georgia, will host the kickoff on Feb. 29 at the esteemed Atlanta University Center, home to Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. Kadeem Hardison expressed his excitement, stating, “The cast of A Different World has come together to celebrate our 35 year legacy and make more history with today’s HBCUs and tomorrow’s leaders!”

The tour will continue its journey with stops in Washington, D.C., and Montgomery, Alabama, among other cities, throughout April. Other locations and dates are set to be announced soon.

Beyond serving as a trip down memory lane, the tour holds a deeper purpose: raising scholarship funds to support aspiring HBCU students. With sponsorship from Cisco and Wells Fargo, the initiative aims to increase awareness and enrollment in HBCUs nationwide. Debbie Allen emphasized the mission, saying, “Our mission goes beyond nostalgia. We’re on a quest to raise awareness and enrollment for HBCUs nationwide. We’re not just telling a story; we’re rewriting the narrative.”

“A Different World,” a spin-off from “The Cosby Show,” captivated audiences for six seasons, offering a glimpse into the lives of students at the fictional Hillman College. Jasmine Guy shared her perspective, “The cast of A Different World has come together to celebrate our 35-year legacy and make more history with today’s HBCUs and tomorrow’s leaders!”

Its impact on Black viewership and HBCU attendance remains profound, making this reunion tour both a celebration of the past and a catalyst for the future.
