A$AP Rocky to Receive Inaugural Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award

A$AP Rocky is being recognized for more than his music.

The Tribeca Festival’s flagship brand storytelling program has named A$AP Rocky as the first-ever recipient of its Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award, honoring the rapper, designer, and creative visionary for his boundary-pushing work across music, fashion, film, and brand storytelling.

Tribeca X takes place June 8–9 at Spring Studios during the 25th annual Tribeca Festival, with this year’s programming spotlighting how brands and entertainment leaders are building new models for storytelling and creative commerce.

“A$AP Rocky represents the kind of genre-defying visionary the inaugural Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award was created to honor,” said Tribeca Enterprises CEO Rebecca Glashow. “Today’s cultural landscape is being defined by artists and entrepreneurs who push creative boundaries across mediums and industries.”

The two-day summit features a packed lineup of conversations spanning creativity, business, and culture. Highlights include Cedric the Entertainer on building businesses and launching Setta Wines; Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and chef Claire Saffitz on his international culinary brand Cloud23; Emmy-winning host Zuri Hall moderating a conversation with NBA on Prime Video host Taylor Rooks and Aurora James, founder of Brother Vellies and the Fifteen Percent Pledge; and Dhar Mann discussing how his creator-led studio is redefining entertainment.

Tribeca X also announced official selections for its Tribeca X Awards, recognizing brand storytelling across six categories including Feature Film, Short Film, Episodic Series, Commercial Spot, Content Creator/Influencer Collaboration, and Audio/Podcast. This year’s selections feature work from brands including Amazon, Coca-Cola, Google, Netflix, TikTok, The North Face, Converse, Red Bull, and more.
