Showtime has revealed the latest additions to the cast of its upcoming series “Dexter: Original Sin,” including Aaron Jennings, known for his role in “Grand Crew,” and Raquel Justice from “One Day at a Time” who are among the nine new actors joining the cast.
Other new cast members include Joe Pantoliano (“The Sopranos”), Brittany Allen (“The Boys”), Randy Gonzalez (“Bloodline”), Jasper Lewis (“V/H/S”), Carlo Mendez (“The Bay”), Isaac Gonzalez Rossi (“That’s Amor”), and Roberto Sanchez (“Palm Royale”). Each will have a recurring role in the first season.
Set in 1991 Miami, the 10-episode original series follows a young Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he hones his deadly skills with the guidance of his adoptive father, Harry (Christian Slater). Harry, who understands Dexter’s dark urges, teaches him a code to target and eliminate those who deserve to die, all while evading law enforcement. This journey becomes even more complicated as Dexter begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
The series features a previously cast ensemble, including Christina Milian, Reno Wilson, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, Patrick Dempsey, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Pantoliano will portray Mad Dog, Allen takes on the role of Dexter’s biological mother, Laura Moser, and Gonzalez will play Santos Jimenez. Jennings is cast as Clark Sanders, and Justice will appear as Sofia. Lewis will portray Dexter’s adoptive mother, Doris Morgan, Mendez as Hector Estrada, Gonzalez Rossi as Gio, and Sanchez as Tony Ferrer.
Production is currently underway in Miami, with Clyde Phillips leading the project. Phillips, who previously worked on the original “Dexter” series, serves as executive producer alongside Scott Reynolds, Michael C. Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Robert Lloyd Lewis is producing, with Michael Lehmann as the directing executive producer.
