Today, at its inaugural upfront presentation, Prime Video unveiled the much-anticipated teaser trailer for the Amazon Original Series “Cross” and announced its renewal for a second season. The series, a collaboration between Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television, promises to be a riveting thriller based on James Patterson’s renowned Alex Cross book series. Created by Ben Watkins, “Cross” boasts a star-studded cast and a narrative that delves into the complexities of crime and psychology.
The first season of “Cross” is set to premiere later this year exclusively on Prime Video, reaching audiences across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The announcement comes alongside the introduction of new cast members for the second season, including Wes Chatham, Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason, and Johnny Ray Gill in a regular role.
Aldis Hodge takes the lead as Alex Cross, a character known for his unique blend of detective skills and psychological acumen in unraveling the minds of criminals. Hodge, who also serves as a producer on the series, is joined by a talented ensemble including Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford, and Ryan Eggold.

For the upcoming season, Ben Watkins will continue as showrunner and executive producer, alongside a talented team including Jim Dunn, Sam Ernst, and Craig Siebels. Season 2 will see Dunn and Ernst taking on co-showrunner roles alongside Watkins, with new additions to the executive producing team such as J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, and Aldis Hodge.
