Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for its upcoming comedy series ‘Bad Monkey,’ starring Vince Vaughn, Jodie Turner-Smith, and L. Scott Caldwell. The show, set to premiere on August 14, is based on Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel and is a mix of crime, comedy, and Floridian eccentricities.
‘Bad Monkey’ follows the story of Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), a former Miami Police Department detective demoted to a health inspector in the Florida Keys. Yancy’s mundane life takes a twist when a human arm is found by tourists, sparking a murder investigation that could help him reclaim his former glory. However, Yancy must navigate a sea of oddball characters and a troublesome monkey to solve the case.
The ensemble cast includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Special guest stars include Ashley Nicole Black, John Ortiz, Zach Braff, Scott Glenn, and Charlotte Lawrence, who makes her television debut.
The trailer provides a glimpse into Andrew Yancy’s chaotic new life, starting with his demotion and the discovery of the severed arm. As Yancy delves deeper into the case, he encounters a series of quirky characters and situations, ultimately becoming a suspect himself. The comedic and suspenseful narrative promises to engage viewers with its unique blend of humor and mystery.

Bill Lawrence developed the series and serves as the executive producer and showrunner with Vaughn also stepping into the role of executive producer.
The series will debut globally on Apple TV+ with its first two episodes on August 14, followed by weekly releases until the finale on October 9. ‘Bad Monkey’ is produced by Warner Bros.
