Apple TV+ has unveiled the gripping trailer for its upcoming limited series “Lady in the Lake,” featuring Academy Award winner Natalie Portman and Emmy nominee Moses Ingram in leading roles. Created and directed by Alma Har’el, the series is set to premiere globally on Friday, July 19, 2024, with the first two episodes.

Based on Laura Lippman’s acclaimed 2019 novel, the Apple Original drama delves into the mysterious disappearance of a young girl that shakes 1966 Baltimore. The narrative intertwines the lives of two women on divergent paths: Maddie Schwartz (played by Portman), a Jewish housewife-turned-investigative journalist grappling with her past, and Cleo Johnson (portrayed by Ingram), a Black mother entangled in Baltimore’s political landscape while striving to support her family. As Maddie becomes fixated on Cleo’s enigmatic death, their worlds collide with dangerous consequences, unfolding a noir thriller under Har’el’s visionary direction.

Joining Portman and Ingram are a talented ensemble cast including Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.

Since its launch in 2019, Apple TV+ has distinguished itself with a lineup of original programming that spans drama, comedy, documentaries, and family entertainment. The streaming service has garnered critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including Emmy Awards for “Ted Lasso” and the groundbreaking Oscar-winning film “CODA.”
