Apple TV Renews ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ for Season 2

Apple TV has renewed Margo’s Got Money Troubles for a second season, the streamer announced ahead of the Season 1 finale, which arrives May 20.

The critically acclaimed comedy stars Elle Fanning as Margo, a college dropout who turns to OnlyFans to support herself and her newborn baby while contending with a custody battle, mounting debt and a father struggling with addiction.

Michelle Pfeiffer plays her mother Shyanne, a former Hooters waitress, and Nick Offerman plays her father Jinx, an ex-professional wrestler. Nicole Kidman plays Jinx’s wrestling colleague turned lawyer Linda “Lace” Sawkins, Thaddea Graham plays Margo’s roommate Susie, Greg Kinnear plays Shyanne’s new husband Kenny, Marcia Gay Harden plays Mark’s mother Elizabeth Gable, and Michael Angarano plays Mark, the father of Margo’s child.

Rico Nasty and Lindsey Normington also star.

The series, created by David E. Kelley and based on Rufi Thorpe’s 2024 novel, has earned a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes since its debut, with critics calling it one of the best shows of the year and praising its warmth, sharp writing and powerhouse ensemble. For Season 2, writer and producer Eva Anderson will join Kelley as co-showrunner.

“When I first read Rufi’s stunning story, it felt wholly original and most importantly human,” Fanning said in a statement. “I can promise everyone they’re in for a wild, messy and beautiful ride.”

“It’s been rewarding to see audiences embrace this series,” Kelley added. “We can’t wait to continue this story with our partners at Apple and A24.”

Matt Cherniss, Apple TV’s head of programming, said audiences have been hungry for more since the show debuted. “We’re excited to watch Margo and the entire family continue to defy the odds in Season 2, in the way only they can, with humor, determination and creativity.”

Margo’s Got Money Troubles is produced by A24 for Apple TV. The Season 1 finale airs May 20.
