Ashanti and Cedric the Entertainer Are Father and Daughter in The Plus One [TRAILER]

Ashanti takes on the challenge of preserving her dream wedding in the upcoming comedy film, “The Plus One.”

The trailer offers a glimpse into the chaos that ensues as Ashanti’s character, Lizzie, fights to maintain her sanity and the integrity of her wedding, all while contending with her best friend’s troublesome wedding guest.

Michelle Hurd, B.J. Britt, Cassandra Scerbo, Julissa Bermudez, Wesley Armstrong, and Brendan Bradley.

The Plus One is in theaters Sept. 29, then will be available on demand and digital Oct. 3.

Here’s the official description:

Lizzie (played by Ashanti) is on a quest for the perfect destination wedding, courtesy of her adoring father (Cedric the Entertainer). However, her meticulously laid plans go haywire when her “man-of-honor,” Marshall (Jonathan Bennett), brings along his nightmarish ex, Marie. It will require a collective effort from Lizzie’s friends and family to prevent her from losing her mind as her “happily ever after” teeters on the brink of disaster. “The Plus One” promises to be a hilarious and delightful romantic comedy.

Erik White directs based on a screenplay and story by Brendan Andolsek Bradley and Austin Highsmith Graces. Danny Roth, Demetrius Spencer, John Mehrer, Danny Chan, Tina Douglas, and Stephan Dweck take on production roles.

“The Plus One” was announced to be in production in 2021, with filming commencing that December.
