Azie Tesfai’s Developing Crime Drama The Chase for NBC

Aziz Tesfai is developing the crime drama, The Chase, for NBC.

Tesfai penned the drama which centers on undercover CIA agent Robert who after falling for his target, Katherine, his world turns upside down. Their Bonnie & Clyde escape goes sideways when they’re captured by the American government and forced to use their opposing assets and skill set to find some of the most wanted criminals in the world, all while learning the other isn’t who they thought.

She also is also executive producing The Chase and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studios Group, is the studio.

Tesfai’s writing credits include The CW’s Supergirl, making her the first actor in a Greg Berlanti-produced series to pen an episode on any of his shows. She also starred in the DC comics series making her  the first Ethiopian person to ever portray a superhero on screen.

Her other acting credits include Jane the Virgin, A Million Little Things, The Kominsky Method, NCIS: Los Angeles and Ghosted, among others.

The Chase marks Tesfai’s first broadcast script sale.
