Netflix has officially set the return date for Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black—and Kimmie is coming back with a vengeance.

The drama’s second season will premiere on Thursday, September 11, with Netflix dropping a teaser trailer that hints at even deeper betrayals and dangerous power plays inside the Bellarie empire.

Taylor Polidore Williams returns as Kimmie, now the wife of ruthless family patriarch Horace Bellarie, played by Ricco Ross. Also returning are Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Xavier Smalls, Charles Malik Whitfield, Tamera “Tee” Kissen, Ursula O. Robinson, Ashley Versher, George Middlebrook, and Ts Madison.

If you remember how Season 1 ended, Kimmie went from exotic dancer to executive when she made the shocking decision to marry Horace Bellarie. Her aim? To block his scheming children from seizing control of his fortune and beauty empire. That twist flipped the series on its head and instantly made her the kids’ new stepmother—and their boss.

The move secured her future but sparked a war. Now, in Season 2, it’s clear the battle for power is just beginning.

The teaser shows Kimmie entering the world of high-stakes boardrooms, with Horace mentoring her to run the family business. But fans know better—Horace once held her at gunpoint. And the Bellarie children, known for playing dirty, aren’t likely to take this power shift lying down.

Expect fireworks. From hallway whispers to corporate sabotage, no one plays fair in this family.

Despite mixed critical reception, Beauty in Black has been a consistent hit for Netflix. Part 1 spent four weeks in the Top 10 and reached #1 in 28 countries. Part 2, which premiered March 6, kept the momentum going strong. With Season 2 split into two parts, expect Netflix to keep pushing this buzzy drama deep into 2025.

This show is just one piece of Perry’s growing slate with the streamer. In addition to Beauty in Black, he’s got multiple Netflix projects in motion, including The Six Triple Eight, Straw, R&B, and Madea’s Destination Wedding.

With Beauty in Black locked in for another chapter, the Tyler Perry-Netflix partnership is only getting stronger.

Watch the new teaser below—and let us know what you’re hoping to see this season. Are you Team Kimmie or Team Bellarie?
