BET is expanding its original programming slate with the greenlight of OG Stories, a new conversation series created, directed, and hosted by music and film mogul Damon Dash. The series is slated to premiere on BET in spring 2026.
The upcoming series will center on candid conversations between Dash and individuals from his inner circle — people he describes as cultural architects, entrepreneurs, and self-made leaders who built their success from the ground up. While the guest lineup has not yet been announced, the series is positioned as a space where real-life experiences, lessons, and perspectives are shared through unfiltered dialogue.
Rooted in the network’s focus on community, culture, and connection, OG Stories will spotlight voices that have shaped culture both within and beyond the entertainment industry. The series aims to explore the mindset, challenges, and pivotal moments that defined these individuals’ journeys — from navigating difficult beginnings to building platforms and businesses that impacted their communities.
According to the network’s description, the series will lean into cinematic visuals and character-driven conversations to capture stories about resilience, survival, and the lessons that come from navigating both success and hardship.
Dash, best known as the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, has long been associated with hip-hop entrepreneurship and independent media ventures across music, film, fashion, and television. Over the years, he has played a role in shaping the careers of several cultural figures while also launching his own creative platforms.
In a statement announcing the project, Dash thanked BET executives Louis Carr and Brian Rikuda for supporting the series and giving it a platform. He described OG Stories as a reflection of real-life experiences from people he knows personally — individuals who built something meaningful through their own hustle and determination.
Behind the scenes, OG Stories is produced by The Dash Group LLC and Jason Harvey, with Nicolette Durham serving as associate producer. Josh Pyzynski will serve as director of photography, with music supervision led by Dash and Durham. Audio post-production engineering is handled by Eric Hoegemeyer, while editing duties are shared by Pyzynski, Pierre Adams, Michael Coleman, Julian Ramirez, and Molly Menchen.
The series marks another addition to BET’s growing lineup of culture-driven programming aimed at highlighting voices and perspectives rooted in the Black experience.
