CBS Sets Major ‘Beyond the Gates’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’ Crossover Event

CBS is officially crossing soap worlds.

The network has announced a major daytime crossover event bringing characters from The Young and the Restless’s Genoa City into the world of Beyond the Gates, with episodes set to air this June.

Six familiar faces from Y&R will appear across multiple episodes of Beyond the Gates: Eric Braeden, Peter Bergman, Bryton James, Michael Mealor, Susan Walters, and Melissa Ordway.

What brings Genoa City to Fairmont Crest?

The crossover centers on a high-profile political fundraiser in the elite Fairmont Crest community. Longtime friends Vernon Dupree (played by Clifton Davis) and Victor Newman reunite in grand fashion, with Victor serving as keynote speaker for a fundraiser benefiting Vernon’s grandson, Martin Dupree (played by Brandon Claybon).

Their relationship runs deep: Victor has backed Vernon’s political campaigns over the years, while Vernon has supported legislation favoring Newman Enterprises—an alliance rooted in power, loyalty, and influence.

Who’s on the guest list?

  • Kyle Abbott and Martin Dupree, friends since their post-college days in New York, reconnect at the event
  • Kyle arrives with his parents Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins
  • Abby Newman and Devon Hamilton also attend, with Devon encountering an unexpected business opportunity from Anita Dupree (played by Tamara Tunie)

And because this is daytime drama, the night doesn’t end smoothly.

As the fundraiser unfolds, a shocking event derails the evening—setting off consequences that will impact every guest in attendance.

A landmark moment for daytime TV

While Beyond the Gates has previously brushed up against other CBS soaps—Bryton James appeared once as Devon, and The Bold and the Beautiful’s Thorsten Kaye made a guest appearance—this marks the largest and most ambitious crossover in the show’s history.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT and is produced by CBS Studios as part of the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, in partnership with P&G Studios.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. PT and is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

Both series are available to stream on Paramount+.

If CBS is testing how big daytime storytelling can go—this crossover is the blueprint.
