CBS has released the extended trailer for Beyond the Gates, the highly anticipated daytime drama set to debut on February 24. The nearly two-minute promo gives viewers an in-depth look at the gripping world of the Dupree family, teasing all the drama, betrayal, love, and scandal that awaits in this groundbreaking series.
The show, created by veteran soap writer Michele Val Jean, centers around the Dupree family, a wealthy Black dynasty residing in the affluent Maryland suburb of Fairmont Crest. At the heart of the family’s influence is their elite country club, Fairmont Crest, a symbol of their power and privilege. However, beneath the surface of their luxurious lives lies a web of secrets, betrayals, and high-stakes drama that promises to captivate audiences.
The cast is led by Tamara Tunie, who plays Anita Dupree, the family’s matriarch. Anita is a former singer who has built a life of fame and fortune, but her steely exterior masks deeper vulnerabilities. Joining Tunie are Clifton Davis as Theodore Dupree, Anita’s charming yet calculating husband, and their daughters Nicole Dupree Richardson, played by Daphnee Duplaix, and Dani Dupree, portrayed by Karla Mosley. Nicole is a psychiatrist with her own set of secrets, while Dani is a former model navigating the challenges of being a “momager” to her ambitious child.
The ensemble cast also includes Maurice Johnson as Ted Richardson, Nicole’s husband and a respected plastic surgeon; Timon Kyle Durrett as Bill Hamilton, Dani’s charismatic ex-husband with media connections; and Marquita Goings as Hayley Lawson, Bill’s glamorous new fiancée. Together, this dynamic cast brings depth and complexity to the Dupree family’s world.
Beyond the Gates is produced by CBS Studios in collaboration with the CBS/NAACP Production Venture and P&G Studios. Michele Val Jean serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Robert Guza Jr., and other industry veterans. The series represents a continued effort to amplify diverse voices and stories on daytime television, exploring themes of privilege, power, and family legacy.
Production for the series began in Atlanta last november, and its debut has been met with anticipation for its fresh take on the traditional soap opera format. CBS will air reruns of The Price Is Right in the timeslot until Beyond the Gates premieres. Episodes will air weekdays from 2-3 PM ET/1-2 PM PT, with streaming available on Paramount+.
