‘Bride Hard’ Turns a Wedding into a Full-Blown Action Mission [TRAILER]

“Some missions require the perfect cover,” the synopsis reads. “This one just requires the perfect dress.”

Rebel Wilson is suiting up (and glamming up) for her first action role in Bride Hard — a genre-bending, bullet-dodging, bouquet-tossing ride that blends high-octane spy thrills with wedding day chaos. The Simon West-directed film hits theaters June 20 and stars Wilson as a world-class secret agent who’s trying — and failing — to blend in as maid of honor at her best friend’s destination wedding.

And yes, the friend is played by Wilson’s Pitch Perfect co-star Anna Camp, making this a mini-aca-reunion with a whole lot more firepower.

In Bride Hard, Wilson’s character Sam has spent her life saving the world. But her real challenge? Emotional intimacy — and staying out of the spotlight long enough to support her childhood bestie on her big day. That plan gets thrown out the window when a team of armed mercenaries crashes the ceremony and takes everyone hostage. What follows is a wild, high-stakes showdown where Sam has to protect the guests, dodge bullets, and maybe, just maybe, avoid ruining the floral arrangements.

And speaking of scene-stealers — Da’Vine Joy Randolph brings her signature mix of raw honesty and scene-shifting presence to the chaos. Her role adds a grounded edge to the madness, reminding us why she’s become one of the most compelling (and consistent) talents working in Hollywood today. She doesn’t just show up — she shifts the energy in every frame she’s in.

The guest list doesn’t stop there. Bride Hard also stars Anna Chlumsky, Gigi Zumbado, Sherry Cola, Stephen Dorff, Justin Hartley, Sam Huntington, Michael O’Neill, and Colleen Camp.

Written by Shaina Steinberg, from a story by Steinberg and CeCe Pleasants, the film is produced by Joel David Moore, Colleen Camp, Cassian Elwes, Max Osswald, Jason Ross Jallet, and Bob Yari, whose Magenta Light Studios will distribute the film nationwide. The production also teams up with WME Independent, Copper Island Films, and Latigo Films.

‘Bride Hard’ premieres June 20. Prepare for bridezillas, bad guys, and a whole lot of unexpected heart.
