Christine Horn is adding another comedy to her resume. The Classified and BMF actress has joined Netflix’s upcoming scripted series Free Bert in a recurring role.
Led by comedian Bert Kreischer — who also co-created the show and plays a fictionalized version of himself — Free Bert follows the shirtless, wild-card comedian as he attempts to tone it down when his daughters are accepted into a posh Beverly Hills private school. His antics don’t exactly scream “elite parent,” so Kreischer decides to (literally) put on a shirt and play by the rules… or at least try to.
The six-episode series also stars Arden Myrin and introduces newcomers Ava Ryan and Lilou Lang. Joining Horn in recurring roles are Mandell Maughan, Chris Witaske (The Bear), and Sophia Reid-Gantzert (Death and Other Details). Character details are being kept under wraps.
Free Bert is co-created by Kreischer, Jarrad Paul, and Andrew Mogel (Huge in France, The Grinder), who also serve as executive producers, directors, and showrunners. Kreischer’s wife, LeeAnn Kreischer, also executive produces along with Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Elise Henderson for Counterpart Studios, and Judi Marmel.
Production is currently underway at Cinespace Studios in Atlanta — the former EUE/Screen Gems lot and longtime Stranger Things filming home — with shooting scheduled from July 8 through August 11.
Horn’s latest credits include Prime Video’s Classified, FX’s Snowfall, Starz’s BMF, and Tyler Perry’s Duplicity. She also appeared in The Way Back opposite Ben Affleck and Charlie Day’s Fool’s Paradise. She is represented by SMS Talent, Houghton Talent, and Entertainment Lab.
