Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. to Star in Father-Son Work Comedy Series For CBS

Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. are teaming up for their first show together, two decades in the making. The duo are starring in a father-son work comedy for CBS.

The untitled comedy revolves around legendary talk radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” (Wayans), who has to drag his grown son (Wayans Jr.), who has all his charm and none of his drive, kicking and screaming into adulthood before he turns 40.

Wayans co-wrote the multi-camera project with former Last Man Standing executive producer Kevin Hench. Wayans, Hench and Wayans Jr. executive produce. CBS Studios, where Wayans Jr.’s Two Shakes Entertainment has been based since its launch, is the studio.

This is the first big project the two are collaborating for but this isn’t their first on-screen duet.

Wayans Jr. made his TV acting debut with a major recurring role on My Wife and Kids. His father, co-created, executive produced and starred in the comedy which ran on ABC for five seasons from 2001-05.

Then when Wayans Jr. starred in the CBS multi-camera sitcom Happy Together, elder Wayans guest starred as Wayans Jr.’s father in an episode titled, “Like Father, Like Son.”

As of now, no other details surrounding the show have been revealed.
