Who’s Back

We previously reported Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Colman Domingo, Martha Kelly, and Chloe Cherry were all confirmed to return. Also joining them are OG cast members including Nika King, who is set to reprise her role as Rue’s mother Leslie Bennett after speculation about her status this year. Dominic Fike, Alanna Ubach, Sophia Rose Wilson, and Zak Steiner will also return in supporting roles.

Who’s New (Previously Announced)

Earlier in the year, HBO revealed the first batch of newcomers: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Anna Van Patten, Toby Wallace, and Asante Blackk.

What to Expect

Created and directed by Sam Levinson, the eight-episode season takes a time jump that moves the story beyond high school. Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles, supported by a $19.4 million California tax credit, with the series slated to premiere in 2026.

Since its debut, Euphoria has become one of HBO’s most-watched shows, earning 25 Emmy nominations and nine wins, including two for Zendaya and one for Colman Domingo.

Though HBO’s Francesca Orsi hinted this could be the final chapter, she added that the story “will bring each of the characters’ whole narrative to a satisfying close.”

Departures

Season 3 will also see some key departures — updated from our previous report, its only 5 not 7 cast members not returning.

  • Storm Reid (Gia Bennett) exited due to scheduling conflicts tied to her production company, A Seed & Wings.
  • Barbie Ferreira (Kat Hernandez) left over creative differences.
  • Austin Abrams (Ethan Daley) will not return.
  • Javon “Wanna” Walton (Ashtray) was killed off in the Season 2 finale.

The Euphoria family also continues to mourn Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, after his passing in July 2023.

A first-look image featuring Deadwyler has been released, hinting at the new tone and direction of the long-delayed season.
