Danielle Deadwyler has found her next role in Netflix and Amblin’s thriller Carry On. She joins Sofia Carson, Taron Egerton, and Jason Bateman in the holiday thriller.
The thriller centers on Ethan Kopek, a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.
Jaume Collet-Serra is directing based on a script originally penned by TJ Fixman with edits by Michael Green.
Holly Bario, Amblin’s president of production, will oversee the project on behalf of the studio. Brian Williams will exec produce via Dylan Clark Productions as will Scott Greenberg and Seth William Meier. Dylan Clark is also producing. Carry On marks the first production to come out of the overall deal Amblin signed with Netflix last June.
Deadwyler is a name to know as she is set to star in Till. She will portray Mamie Till Mobley, whose relentless pursuit of justice for her 14 year old son, Emmett Till, who, in 1955, was lynched while visiting his cousins in Mississippi. The film will hit theaters Oct 14th. Her credits include The Harder They Fall, Being Mary Jane, Atlanta and more.
