Dave Chappelle Sets Three-Night Comedy and Music Residency at Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026

Dave Chappelle is pulling up on Netflix Is a Joke Fest in a major way.

The award-winning comedian is set to headline a three-night residency at the iconic Hollywood Palladium from May 7–9, bringing a unique blend of comedy, music, and surprise guest appearances to the stage.

The announcement arrives alongside a cinematic teaser featuring Chappelle sitting under the glow of Los Angeles city lights, with legendary actor Morgan Freeman returning to narrate. The collaboration marks a reunion between the two, following Freeman’s voiceover work on Chappelle’s 2021 special, The Closer.

This marks Chappelle’s return to the festival after helping launch its inaugural run in 2022, where he made headlines following an onstage attack by a spectator. The comedian was unharmed, and the assailant was later sentenced to jail time.

Chappelle joins a growing list of high-profile additions to this year’s lineup, including Louis C.K., who recently announced both a headlining set and an upcoming Netflix special.

The residency comes on the heels of another major run for Chappelle. His 2023 Netflix special The Dreamer earned him a Grammy for Best Comedy Album, while his surprise 2024 drop The Unstoppable marked his eighth special with the streamer. In 2025, he also made history as the first comedian to receive the NAACP President’s Award.

From stand-up dominance to cultural impact, Chappelle continues to move like a headliner who knows exactly when—and how—to make an entrance.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. PT, with additional festival details available via the official festival site.
