David Ramsey is reprising his role as John Diggle to put together a new gang of superheroes for the upcoming Arrowverse series Justice U.

The show will center around Diggle as he “embarks on a new mission to recruit five young meta-humans to live undercover as freshmen at a prestigious university. There he will oversee their education and train them to become the heroes of tomorrow. The show is based on characters from the DC pantheon.”

In addition to starring in the series, if it is picked up to pilot, Ramsey, who has directed a number of Arrowverse episodes, will helm the pilot. He is also directing multiple future episodes across the many Arrowverse shows. If that was not enough, Ramsey will also appear as a guest star in multiple episodes of different Arrowverse shows.

Based on the DC Comics characters, Justice U comes from Michael Narducci and Zoanne Clark. Joining Narducci and Clark as executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden and Geoff Johns. Justice U is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. David Madden of Berlanti Productions is also executive producing with comic book writer Geoff Johns, who is currently overseeing production on Stargirl.

Fans first met Ramsey’s Diggle on Arrow as the U.S. Army master sergeant went from Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) bodyguard upon his return from the island to fighting alongside him in Starling (then Star) City. He was on the show until its series finale and since has appeared on the other shows in the Arrowverse — The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Superman & Lois — including for crossovers and stand-alone episodes. His next onscreen appearance will come in the January 19 episode of Batwoman.
