Deon Taylor is Teaming Up With King Bach on Scripted Series on Bach’s Rise to Fame

Deon and Roxanne Avent Taylor, through their Hidden Empire Film Group, is teaming up with King Bach (real name Andrew Bachelor) to develop a scripted series chronicling Bach’s rise to social media fame.

Bach first hit it big when he became Vine’s biggest star, boasting 14 million followers and 5.1 billion loops. He has since moved his talents to other major platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram and has nearly 22M followers on the latter alone.

He has also crossed over his social media success to acting roles and has starred in shows like The Mindy Project, House Of Lies, Black Jesus, and Key & Peele. And movies like Hulu’s Vacation Friends, National Champions, and the Meet The Blacks franchise. The latter is where Taylor and Bach began to build their working relationship.

“King Bach is the real deal and watching him grow his brand over the years has been so rewarding,” said Deon Taylor. “Andrew has had an incredible journey thus far and the sky is the limit for him. We are thrilled to be able to share his story with audiences worldwide.”

Deon Taylor will direct the untitled project and exec produce with Roxanne Avent Taylor, alongside Andrew Bachelor, Christina Bachelor and Gary Glushon of Bach Enterprises, and Caleeb Pinkett via his Twentyfive8 Entertainment.

“I’ve had great experiences working with Deon Taylor telling both horror and comedic stories over the years. I’m excited to share an authentic story about my life and career,” added Bachelor. “I have always continued to pursue my passions and follow my dreams and this project exemplifies that. This is truly the perfect team to bring this story life and I cannot be more excited and proud to work with them.”

The untitled series is the second project that centered on Bach’s life. In 2015 Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele had looked to develop a Fox comedy loosely based on a vine King Bach created. However, the series never made it to air.

Ahead of this project, King Bach and Deon Taylor’s next project together is Taylor’s upcoming horror pic Fear. It’ll be released May 13, 2022.

Taylor’s other upcoming projects include the horror film Grave Hill, Freedom Ride, which tells the story of the late civil rights icon John Lewis and the original Freedom Riders. Other upcoming projects from Hidden Empire include a reboot of Blacula, the sports heist thriller Free Agents, and the psychological thriller Silent John.
