Disney+ has unveiled a teaser and poster for “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” the latest installment in the popular “Descendants” franchise. The movie, featuring the teenage offspring of classic Disney characters, is set to debut on Disney+ on July 12, followed by a special airing on Disney Channel on August 9.
The teaser gives fans a glimpse into the world of “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” introducing Kylie Cantrall as Red, the spirited princess hailing from the enigmatic kingdom of Wonderland. Alongside her is Malia Baker, portraying Chloe, the daughter of Cinderella and King Charming, who finds herself entangled in Red’s daring adventures.
Adding to the excitement are industry veterans Brandy and Paolo Montalban, reprising their roles as Cinderella and King Charming respectively, with Brandy’s return marking a nostalgic nod to fans of the beloved 1997 television special.
In this latest installment, former Villain Kid Uma, now headmaster of Auradon Prep, extends an invite to the school to another VK – Red, the rebellious daughter of the tyrannical Queen of Hearts from Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts has long held a grudge against Auradon, and especially Cinderella, and seizes the opportunity to seek revenge when she drops her daughter off at school. When the Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, Red must team up with Cinderella’s perfectionist daughter Chloe and travel back in time to try to undo the traumatic event that set Red’s mother down her villainous path.

The film also stars Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts, Dara Reneé as Uliana, Ruby Rose Turner as Bridget/Young Queen of Hearts, Morgan Dudley as Ella/Young Cinderella, Joshua Colley as Young Hook, Peder Lindell as Morgie, Grace Narducci as Fay/Young Fairy Godmother, Jeremy Swift as Principal Merlin, and Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter.
China Anne McClain is back as fan-favorite Uma and the new principal at Auradon Prep. Melanie Paxson also reprises her role as Fairy Godmother.
True to the tradition of the “Descendants” series, the movie features a soundtrack with original songs. The “Descendants: The Rise of Red Original Soundtrack” is set to debut on July 12 as well.
Executive-produced by Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh, and helmed by director Jennifer Phang, “Descendants: The Rise of Red” promises to be an unforgettable cinematic experience for audiences of all ages
