Actor and filmmaker DeWanda Wise has signed with Range Media Partners for representation, adding to her existing teams at CAA and Del Shaw Moonves.
Wise first broke out in the spotlight with her lead role in Netflix’s She’s Gotta Have It, the series adaptation of Spike Lee’s iconic film. Since then, she’s built an impressive body of work across television, film, and stage. Most recently, she starred opposite Alexander Skarsgård in Apple TV+’s Murderbot, which just wrapped its first season and secured a renewal for season two.
Last year, Wise starred in Starz’s Three Women alongside Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin and headlined and executive produced the Blumhouse horror feature Imaginary. She also brought femme fatale energy to the big screen as June Del Rey in Poolman, the directorial debut of Chris Pine, where she starred alongside Pine, Danny DeVito, and Annette Bening.
Her previous credits include Jurassic World Dominion, The Harder They Fall, Someone Great, and Fatherhood opposite Kevin Hart.
On the stage, Wise’s highlights include her roles in the Atlantic Theater Company’s Fireflies; originating Nina in Dominique Morisseau’s Sunset Baby and Mercy in Flight, directed by Liesl Tommy; as well as roles in Race by David Mamet and In the Continuum.
Coming up, Wise will appear in two buzzy projects: Love, Brooklyn, the directorial debut of Rachael Abigail Holder which premiered at Sundance and is set for release next month, and Killing Faith, a genre-bending western from Ned Crowley, where she stars opposite Guy Pearce. She’s also attached to star in and executive produce Killer Bee, an adaptation of David Crownson’s upcoming graphic novel, produced by Tommy Oliver’s Confluential Films.
Outside of her creative work, Wise is a passionate mental health advocate. As an ambassador for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), she works to reduce stigma and push for equitable, accessible mental health care.
With her signing to Range Media, Wise continues to chart a purposeful and expansive career across genres and platforms.
