Domino Day: Lone Witch trailer

The Sundance Now original drama ‘Domino Day: Lone Witch’ is taking audiences on a supernatural adventure when it premieres on Thursday, June 27. The series will debut with a double-episode release exclusively on Sundance Now and AMC+, followed by weekly episodes on both platforms.

Set in Manchester, England, “Domino Day: Lone Witch” is a six-part thriller starring BAFTA-nominated Siena Kelly (Adult Material, Hit & Run) as Domino Day. Unlike most young women on dating apps, Domino isn’t searching for love; she’s hunting. Critics have likened the series to a modern fusion of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Charmed.”

Domino Day is not an ordinary witch—she must consume human energy to survive. Unbeknownst to her, a coven of witches is closely monitoring her actions, believing they must stop her before she wreaks havoc. The plot thickens when a shadowy figure from Domino’s past resurfaces, setting the stage for a potentially explosive showdown.

The series features a dynamic and diverse cast, including Babirye Bukilwa (Dreaming Whilst Black) as Sammie, Poppy Lee Friar (Mr Selfridge) as Geri, Alisha Bailey (Grace) as Kat, Molly Harris (Industry) as Jules, Sam Howard Sneyd (The Children) as Silas, and Percelle Ascott (I Came By) as Leon. The supporting cast boasts Lucy Cohu (Cobra) as Esme, Christopher Jeffers (The Order One) as Mike, and Jonah Rzeskiewicz (Masters of the Air) as Jason.

Critics have praised the show for its fresh take on the genre. The Guardian highlighted it as “a sign that women’s stories are finally starting to be told,” while The Telegraph lauded it for its “sexy supernatural drama.” Digital Spy commended the casting for breaking away from the genre’s usual norms, featuring Black and Asian women who bring unique perspectives to the coven’s sisterhood.

“Domino Day: Lone Witch” is the brainchild of Lauren Sequeira (Gangs of London, Kiss Me First), with episodes penned by Charlene James (A Discovery of Witches, The Rising) and Haleema Mirza (Secret Invasion). The series is directed by Eva Sigurdardottir (Good Night, Rainbow Party) and Nadira Amrani (Extraordinary, On The Edge). Produced by Nick Pitt, the executive producers include Lauren Sequeira, Laurence Bowen, Chris Carey, and Elinor Day for Dancing Ledge Productions, alongside Lucy Richer and Ayela Butt for the BBC.

A Sundance Now Original, “Domino Day: Lone Witch” is produced in association with the BBC and Fremantle’s Dancing Ledge Productions.
