Dorian Missick and Karla Souza Join Prime Video Thriller 'Obsession'

Prime Video has added Dorian Missick and Karla Souza as series regulars for its upcoming thriller series ‘Obsession.’ They will star alongside Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia in the show produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster.

“Obsession,” adapted from Catherine Ryan Howard’s 2021 bestseller “56 Days,” is written and executive produced by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher. The series follows the intense relationship between Oliver (Jogia) and Ciara (Cameron), who meet in a supermarket and quickly fall into a passionate, dangerous romance. The story reaches a climax 56 days later when homicide detectives discover a decomposed body in Oliver’s apartment. The investigation and the couple’s troubled relationship are depicted through alternating timelines.

Missick will portray Karl Connelly, a disorganized detective experiencing a midlife crisis. Despite his chaotic personal life, Connelly is a skilled and loyal detective. Souza will play Lee Reardon, a dedicated Boston homicide detective with a strong belief in justice, but who harbors a secret that jeopardizes her most important relationships.

The production team includes executive producers James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett from Atomic Monster, with Danielle Bozzone overseeing the series for the company. Sandrine Gros d’Aillon is also an executive producer, and Catherine Ryan Howard serves as co-executive producer. Alethea Jones will direct the first two episodes.

Dorian Missick has recently been seen in Netflix’s “Shirley,” and Amazon MGM Studio’s “The Burial.” His television credits include roles in CBS All Access’s “Tell Me A Story,” Marvel’s “Luke Cage,” and ABC’s “For Life.” Karla Souza is best known for her role in ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder” and recently received two International Emmy Awards for her work in Prime Video’s “Dive” (aka “La Caida”). She has also starred in ABC’s “Home Economics” and Netflix’s “Day Shift.”
