Double Double Trouble 2: Tami Roman Returns to Star in and Executive Produce, Roger Cross Joins Lifetime Sequel

L-R: Tami Roman, Roger Cross, Sa’Rah L. Jones

Lifetime has greenlit Double Double Trouble 2, a sequel to the network’s highest-rated original movie of 2026. Tami Roman returns to executive produce and reprise her dual roles as identical twins Drea and Ali, starring alongside Roger Cross.

The original Double Double Trouble, directed by Gabriel Correa from a script by Sa’Rah L. Jones, premiered February 21 and delivered 625,000 viewers ages 25 and older in Live+Same Day viewing, outperforming Lifetime’s original-movie premiere average by 54%. Among women ages 25-64 specifically, the film pulled 235,000 viewers, beating the average by 90%. That film followed Drea as she navigated a devastating miscarriage and the collapse of her marriage, while her twin sister Ali found love with Ryan, played by Colin Lawrence, a relationship that reopened old wounds and pulled Drea into a dangerous psychological battle with her sister, one that ended in deadly consequences.

Double Double Trouble 2 picks up with Drea having assumed Ali’s identity entirely, cooking show, fiancé, and all, until a hospital call reveals that the real Ali is actually still alive. As Drea scrambles to maintain the deception under her suspicious aunt’s watch, Ryan starts noticing his “bride” doesn’t remember basic details about her own life. Complicating things further, a long-lost twin brother named Randy, also played by Cross, slides into Ryan’s identity just as easily as Drea slid into Ali’s. By the time Ali’s memory fully returns, the sisters end up face-to-face once again, this time with a knife between them and years of resentment behind it.

James Bamford directs the sequel from a script also written by Jones, continuing her role from the original. Double Double Trouble 2 is produced by Navid Soofi for Novus Pictures in association with Studio TF1 America. Timothy O. Johnson, Meghan Hooper White, Abbey Sibucao-MacDonald, Jill Ramsey, and Roman serve as executive producers. Roman previously starred in Lifetime’s Girl in the Closet alongside Remy Ma, based on real events involving a child placed in the custody of her convicted killer aunt.

A premiere date has not yet been announced.
