There is never a dull moment in a house full of twenty-somethings in New York City. FX has released the official trailer for Season 2 of its ensemble comedy Adults, which returns August 27 on FXX and Hulu with all eight episodes available at premiere.
Picking up where Season 1 left off, Issa is dealing with the aftermath of calling off her wedding to Canadian friend Paul Baker, who was saved from having to leave the country when Anton stepped in and married him instead. The two surprised everyone with a passionate kiss to seal the deal. Season 2 dives into the resulting love triangle between Issa, Paul Baker and Anton and how the new dynamic affects the entire friend group.
Over eight episodes the housemates tackle a new set of real-world questions. What if the 20-year-old who inherited your fake ID is cooler than you ever were? How do you explain to your friends that you actually love your boring office job? Why does being around your family make you regress into your worst self? And how do you ask for things to change when you also need everything to stay the same?
The series stars Malik Elassal as Samir, Lucy Freyer as Billie, Jack Innanen as Paul Baker, Amita Rao as Issa and Owen Thiele as Anton. Season 2 guest stars include Gaten Matarazzo, Jake Shane, Zosia Mamet, Susie Essman, Raven-Symoné, Isaac Powell and Ben Marshall.
FX also released a prequel episode titled Marathon Day, directed by Jonathan Krisel, showing how Samir, Billie, Issa and Anton met Paul Baker and how he became part of the house.
Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, Adults is executive produced by Kronengold, Shaw, Nick Kroll, Sarah Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel, Alicia Van Couvering, Stefani Robinson and Rob Rosell. The series is produced by FX Productions.
Adults Season 2 premieres August 27 at 9 p.m. ET on FXX and Hulu, with two episodes airing each week on FXX. The series is also available on Disney+ internationally.
