Netflix dropped the trailer for its ‘How to Ruin’ spin-off titled “How to Ruin Love: The Proposal,” set to premiere on May 31. This latest addition to the streaming giant’s repertoire is set to take viewers on a rollercoaster ride through the complexities of modern romance.
The romantic comedy, a spin-off of the popular “How to Ruin” franchise, deviates from its usual festive season release, offering fans a mid-year treat. Set against the backdrop of a tumultuous relationship, the series follows the journey of Zoleka, portrayed by Sivenathi Mabuya, as she navigates the highs and lows of love.
Zoleka, a self-professed cynic when it comes to matters of the heart, finds herself in turmoil when she suspects her long-term boyfriend, Kagiso (played by Bohang Moeko), of infidelity. Determined to uncover the truth, she embarks on a mission to catch him in the act, only to find herself grappling with heartbreak when her plans go awry.
Desperate to salvage her relationship, Zoleka enlists the help of their families in a bid to win Kagiso back, regardless of the consequences. What ensues is a blend of humor and poignancy, as the characters navigate the complexities of modern-day love and life.
The star-studded cast includes familiar faces from the “How to Ruin” franchise, with Thando Thabethe and Sandile Mahlangu reprising their roles alongside newcomers such as Thabo Malema, Noxolo Dlamini, Nefisa Mkhabela, and Mapaseka Koetle.
Produced by the acclaimed Ramaphakela siblings—Tshepo, Katleho, and Rethabile—from Burnt Onion Productions, “How to Ruin Love: The Proposal” promises to captivate audiences with its fresh take on love, laughter, and the pursuit of happily ever after.
