Lauren Miller Rogen’s upcoming comedy Babies just added some familiar faces. Issa Rae (Insecure) and Zach Cherry (Severance) have joined the cast, alongside Dan Stevens (Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire) and Kate Berlant (Maddie’s Secret). They join previously announced stars Anna Kendrick (Woman of the Hour) and Seth Rogen (The Studio).
Miller Rogen wrote the script and will direct, marking her second feature behind Like Father. The film follows Annie (Kendrick) and her husband Aaron (Rogen), a couple stuck in the “should we or shouldn’t we?” phase of deciding whether to have a baby. Their world gets flipped when a newly divorced friend moves in — kid in tow — forcing them into instant co-parent mode.
Production kicks off this month in Los Angeles with support from the California Tax Credit program. The film is produced by Miller Rogen and Jen W. Ray through LYLAS Pictures, AGC Studios’ Stuart Ford, and Monarch Media’s Steve Barnett. Executive producers include Miguel A. Palos Jr. and Zach Garrett (AGC), Alan Powell and Vicky Patel (Monarch), and Sophie Høegh (LYLAS). AGC Studios and CAA Media Finance are handling worldwide sales.
