Jackée Harry, Gary Anthony Williams, and Kapri Ladd Among Cast to Star in ‘Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends’ [TRAILER]

Jackée Harry, Gary Anthony Williams, and rising star Kapri Ladd are joining the Marvel Universe — preschool style.

Disney has dropped the official trailer for Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, the first Iron Man-centered animated preschool series, debuting Monday, Aug. 11 on Disney Jr. at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT. The show will also air on Disney Channel later that day and stream on Disney+ starting Tuesday, Aug. 12, with the first 10 episodes available in the U.S. and select international markets.

The series follows a trio of tiny tech geniuses — Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), Riri Williams (Ironheart), and Amadeus Cho (Iron Hulk) — as they team up to tackle everyday problems and super-sized threats in their city. Their high-tech suits give them the power to fly, enhanced strength, and plenty of kid-powered courage.

Kapri Ladd voices Riri Williams, a young inventor with major heart, alongside Mason Blomberg as Tony Stark and Aidyn Ahn as Amadeus Cho. The main villain? Tony Hale as Ultron, with Vanessa Bayer as Swarm and Talon Warburton as Absorbing Man.

The star-studded guest lineup includes:

  • Jackée Harry as Granny Williams, Riri’s sassy grandma with a mobile pie truck
  • Gary Anthony Williams and Mo Collins as Ultron’s clumsy henchbots, Nuts and Bolts
  • Jessica Mendoza as Dottie Doubleday, batting cage queen
  • Stephen Tobolowsky as Spencer Q. Sweets, the candy man
  • Lauren Tom as Helen Cho, Amadeus’ supportive mom

John Stamos also returns to the Marvel animated world — but not as Iron Man this time. After voicing Tony Stark in Spidey and His Amazing Friends, he now steps into the role of Howard Stark, Tony’s father. Check out the [first-look image of Howard Stark here].(LINK)

From Disney Branded Television and Marvel Studios, the series is executive produced by Sean Coyle and Harrison Wilcox, with James Eason-Garcia as co-executive producer and story editor. Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus wrote and performed the show’s theme song, “Totally Awesome.”
