Jahmar Hill Announces ‘Sisters 2’ as He Sets Sights on Expanding Into a Full Film Franchise

Jahmar Hill isn’t just making a sequel—he’s building a universe.

Following a strong response to his BET+ original Sisters, Hill is officially developing Sisters 2, with plans to turn the gritty crime drama into a full-fledged franchise. And like Fast & Furious, one of his biggest inspirations, he’s putting family, action, and emotional stakes front and center—with the hope of growing a cinematic world led by deeply connected characters and high-stakes storytelling.

“This is more than just a sequel—it’s the beginning of a movement,” Hill shared. “We’re building a franchise that gives voice to powerful stories and powerful characters.”

Originally released on BET+ and now streaming on Tubi, Sisters follows Diamond and her cousins Tia and Tara—three women raised by their grandmother after losing their mothers at a young age. When she’s diagnosed with cancer, the trio turns to illegal means to fund the life-saving surgery she needs. It’s a story rooted in desperation, loyalty, and love—one that clearly struck a chord with audiences.

The original cast featured Ciera Angelia, Tobias Truvillion, KD Aubert, Cocoa Brown, Alisa Reyes, Lil Mama, Columbus Short, De’Aundre Bonds, and Jahmar Hill himself, who also wrote, directed, and executive produced the film. Now, Hill is looking to expand the universe by bringing back fan favorites and introducing new faces into the fold.

And if you’re an actor looking for your shot—this might be your moment.

Hill is hosting an open casting call in Los Angeles on May 3rd, welcoming both seasoned actors and fresh, undiscovered talent. The audition will include physical performance and cold reading sessions—so be ready to move, emote, and command the room. Headshots and resumes should be submitted to Sisters2themovie@gmail.com.

“I believe Sisters has the same potential as the franchises we’ve all grown up watching—there’s depth in these relationships, there’s heart, and there’s room to grow,” Hill said. “But more importantly, there’s space for new talent to shine.”

Sisters 2 is currently slated for a late 2026 theatrical release.

Whether you’re watching or auditioning—this is one to keep your eyes on. Because what Hill’s building isn’t just another movie. It’s a home for bold stories, layered characters, and a new kind of franchise rooted in truth.
