Jermaine Fowler, RJ Cyler to Star Indie Horror Film Night Patrol

Jermaine Fowler and RJ Cyler have been tapped to star in the upcoming indie horror film Night Patrol, directed by Ryan Prows, who also co-wrote the script. The film recently completed principal photography in Los Angeles and is to bring a unique twist to the genre.

The cast is packed with notable names, including Justin Long, Dermot Mulroney, Freddie Gibbs (Down With the King), rapper YG (White Boy Rick), Flying Lotus (Ash), Jon Oswald (Lowlife), Nicki Micheaux (Lowlife), and WWE superstar CM Punk.

The storyline follows an LAPD officer, played by Fowler, who must put aside his differences with local street gangs when he uncovers a sinister secret within a police task force that threatens the community he grew up in.

Justin Long portrays Fowler’s partner, recruited into the night patrol through family ties, while Cyler plays Fowler’s brother, who witnesses something he shouldn’t have. Mulroney stars as Long’s father, a sergeant with hidden agendas, while CM Punk steps into the role of the sergeant’s brutal enforcer.

David S. Goyer and Keith Levine are producing the project through their Phantom Four banner, alongside Josh Goldbloom, known for his work on the V/H/S horror series. Additionally, Tea Shop Films producers James Harris and Mark Lane (47 Meters Down) are attached to the film.

The script was co-written by Prows, Shaye Ogbonna (Fight Night), Tim Cairo (Off Ramp), and Jake Gibson (He Bled Neon). The group previously collaborated on Prows’ 2018 directorial debut Lowlife.
