Hulu Originals is set to unleash a spine-chilling addition to its lineup with the horror film “Mr. Crocket,” led by Jerrika Hinton (“Man in Full”) and Elvis Nolasco (“Godfather of Harlem”). Produced by WorthenBrooks, previously known as 20th Digital Studio, the film has just completed production and is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Hulu later this year.
“Mr. Crocket” tells the harrowing tale of a mother on a perilous quest to rescue her son from a sinister children’s show host who has been abducting kids. The film is helmed by emerging director Brandon Espy, who co-wrote the script with Carl Reid. This project is an expansion of Espy’s 2022 short film of the same name, which was featured in Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween anthology.
The cast also includes Ayden Gavin (“Big George Foreman”), Kristolyn Lloyd (“Blue Bloods”), and Alex Alomar Akpobome (“Industry”).
This film marks a key entry in WorthenBrooks’ first-look horror slate with Hulu Originals, with lead producers David Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian, Jenna Cavelle, and Carl Reid involved in its development.
In addition to “Mr. Crocket,” Hinton is set to appear in Malcolm Washington’s film adaptation of August Wilson’s acclaimed play “The Piano Lesson” for Netflix.
