Jonathan Majors’ New Action Film Adds David Lucas, Siaka Massaquoi, and Justin S. Myrick and More

Production is officially underway in South Carolina on a new untitled action film from The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, with David Lucas, Siaka Massaquoi, and Justin S. Myrick joining Jonathan Majors in the cast. The film’s title remains under wraps, but the project is being positioned as a throwback to high-octane ‘80s and ‘90s action classics — a lane that signals both nostalgia and grit.

The growing ensemble also includes JC Kilcoyne (Fix You), Tyler Aser (The Mystery of Her), James Bingham (Swagger), Savanna Leigh James (The Bold and the Beautiful), Stephen Hailo (S.W.A.T.), Myles Clohessy (Frontier Crucible), and Jason Gray-Stanford (Monk).

According to producers, the film centers on American warriors who rise to defend the homeland when threats strike at its core. It’s described as being in the spirit of Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers — projects known for their ensemble-driven, boots-on-the-ground patriotism and explosive set pieces. That comparison gives a clear sense of tone: muscular action, moral stakes, and a mission-first mentality.

Additional cast members include Darby Cappillino, Chris K. Lee (Panic), Sharon Johal (Shantaram), Charlotte Delaney Riggs (Forever and a Day), Hussain Syed (Donors), Paulina Alvarez (FBI: International), Alec Rayme (Scream: The TV Series), Erin Davie (Chicago Med), and Travis Mills (The Pendragon Cycle).

Behind the camera, Kyle Rankin is directing from his own screenplay. The film is produced by Ben Shapiro and Dallas Sonnier, with Savannah Belcher also joining the producing team.

Part of a Growing Slate for Jonathan Majors

This untitled feature marks the third project currently in motion for Majors, signaling a steady expansion of his upcoming slate. The actor is also attached to star in Merciless, a supernatural revenge thriller directed by Martin Villeneuve, and True Threat, a Harlem-set action thriller from director Gerard McMurray.

Preparation for True Threat has already begun, with Majors recently training in 52 Blocks — a historically rooted Black American martial arts discipline that will play a central role in the film’s action choreography. That detail alone suggests a layered approach to action design, grounding spectacle in cultural history.

With cameras now rolling on this latest project, Majors’ focus appears firmly set on forward motion — building new collaborations, stepping back into physically demanding roles, and anchoring an action-driven chapter of his career. More details, including the official title and release plans, are expected as production continues.
