Kevin Hart Set to Host 25th Annual BET Awards — Show Airs Live June 9

The 2025 BET Awards just got a major jolt of star power.

Kevin Hart has officially been tapped to host the 25th annual show, airing live on Sunday, June 9 from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. The announcement came Tuesday alongside a high-energy trailer that teased what’s sure to be a comedy-filled, culture-forward celebration.

This year’s ceremony marks a milestone — 25 years of the BET Awards spotlighting the best in Black entertainment across music, film, TV, and sports. And with Hart steering the ship, expect the laughs to land and the energy to stay at an all-time high.

“Kevin Hart is a powerhouse of an entertainer. His impact spans comedy, film, television, and beyond. As we celebrate 25 years of the BET Awards, we couldn’t think of a more dynamic host to lead this historic night,” said Connie Orlando, BET’s EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy. “Kevin’s unmatched charisma, comedic brilliance, and deep-rooted connection to our culture make him the perfect choice to commemorate this milestone event.”

Before the awards night kicks off, the BET Experience returns June 5–8, bringing four days of immersive, fan-first events to L.A. — think panels, concerts, pop-ups, and curated activations across the city. The BET Experience has long been a cornerstone of the network’s summer celebration, designed to connect fans with the culture in a more hands-on way.

As for who’s nominated and who’s hitting the stage? That’s still under wraps — but if history’s any clue, it’ll be a stacked night of performances and cultural moments that’ll have social media buzzing for days.

The 2025 BET Awards are executive produced by Connie Orlando and Jamal Noisette, BET’s SVP of Tentpoles & Music Community Engagement. Jesse Collins Entertainment is once again behind the production, with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay serving as executive producers.

One thing’s for sure: with Kevin Hart at the helm and a quarter-century of legacy on the line, this year’s BET Awards are shaping up to be one for the books.
