Lamorne Morris, Nicole Byer, Tawny Newsome and Majeed Nami Join Guest Cast of ‘The Earliest Show’ Revival

The Earliest Show revival is bringing in some heavy hitters. Lamorne Morris, Nicole Byer, Tawny Newsome and Majeed Nami are among a stacked guest cast confirmed for the six-part television revival of Ben Schwartz’s cult Funny or Die comedy.

Based on the original Funny or Die digital series that launched in 2016, The Earliest Show follows the hosts of America’s earliest live morning show, broadcasting at 3 a.m. from a tiny upstate New York town. Schwartz and Lapkus reprise their Emmy-nominated roles as Josh Bath and Samantha Newman respectively. Schwartz writes and directs all six episodes.

Series regulars include Kevin Carroll alongside Schwartz, Lapkus and Ryan Gaul, with Henry Winkler and Brandon Scott Jones in recurring roles. The full guest cast includes Chris Pratt, Sarah Silverman, Gillian Jacobs, Nicole Byer, Lamorne Morris, K Callan, Mary Holland, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Majeed Nami, Jillian Bell, Tawny Newsome, Gil Ozeri, Nate Smith, Drew Tarver and Samara Weaving, all appearing opposite series leads Ben Schwartz and Lauren Lapkus.

The revival is co-financed by Amplify Pictures and indie studio Stay Tuned, with Irony Point and Funny or Die also attached. Executive producers include Amplify’s Joe Lewis, Rachel Eggebeen, Colin King Miller and Luke Esselen, Kenny Neibart, Douglas Banker and Barry Kotler from Stay Tuned, Daniel Powell and Alex Bach from Irony Point, Schwartz and Funny or Die’s Ricardo Martinez, Ben Gigli and Jessica Renick.
