Lashana Lynch, who is currently starring in the number one film, Bob Marley: one Love, has already lined up her next role. The acclaimed actress is set to take the lead in “Optimize,” a sci-fi feature directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer.
This project is being produced by Paramount in collaboration with Beer’s Lab Brew banner, a result of the filmmaker’s first-look deal with the studio. The storyline of “Optimize” revolves around an “average woman” who relies on an AI assistant to optimize various aspects of her life. However, the narrative takes a compelling turn as she discovers that the pursuit of perfection by the AI comes at a significant cost.
Lindsey Anderson Beer, known for her directorial work on projects like “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” and as the screenwriter for films such as “Chaos Walking,” brings a unique perspective to the film. Anderson Beer’s background in artificial intelligence and robotics, acquired during her time at Stanford, has played a crucial role in shaping “Optimize” from a short story into a full-fledged feature.
Amidst her remarkable career, Lashana Lynch has delivered standout performances in films like “Captain Marvel,” “The Woman King,” and the James Bond feature “No Time to Die,” marking Daniel Craig’s farewell as 007.
