NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution and Wolf Entertainment are giving Law & Order its own streaming home with the launch of a dedicated FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channel in the U.S.
Starting today, viewers can stream Seasons 5–10 of the Emmy-winning series for free on LG Channels, Pluto TV, Prime Video, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, and Xumo Play. Additional seasons will be rolled out later this year. This marks not only the first time Law & Order has had a standalone FAST channel, but also the first time an NBCUniversal FAST channel is premiering day-and-date across multiple platforms.
“Law & Order fans are using every type of media today and it makes sense for the series to be available wherever they want to watch it,” said series creator and executive producer Dick Wolf. “Our hope is that a new generation of viewers will discover Law & Order, and the fan base will continue to grow as we enter our 25th season.”
Expanding the Franchise’s Reach
This move continues the expansion of the franchise’s streaming presence. Once a cable fixture with a long syndication run on TNT, the flagship drama entered the streaming era in 2020 when Peacock secured the Dick Wolf library. Now, the FAST channel brings Law & Order into a new space, accessible to a wider audience at no cost.
Bruce Casino, EVP of Sales & Distribution, U.S. for NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, added: “We are thrilled that the legendary Law & Order will be joining our powerhouse lineup of FAST channels and are excited to bring this series to new and existing fans alike. This further strengthens our longstanding partnership with Dick Wolf and Wolf Entertainment, whose storytelling continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.”
A Legacy of Impact
Since its debut on NBC on September 13, 1990, Law & Order has become a defining procedural, running for 20 seasons before concluding in 2010. NBC revived the series in 2022, and it’s now headed into its 25th season, premiering September 25. The show has also launched a franchise that includes Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime.
Produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment, the series examines the justice system from both the police and district attorney perspectives. Over the years, its ensemble has included Sam Waterston, S. Epatha Merkerson, Benjamin Bratt, Angie Harmon, Jill Hennessy, Carey Lowell, and the late Jerry Orbach and Steven Hill.
The series has also been a stepping stone for a wide range of guest stars, including Timothée Chalamet, Idris Elba, Jennifer Garner, Sarah Paulson, Zoe Saldaña, Colman Domingo, Allison Janney, Sebastian Stan, Laura Linney, Courtney B. Vance, and Ellen Pompeo.
With its new FAST channel, Law & Order ensures that longtime viewers can revisit iconic episodes while new audiences discover why the series has endured for more than three decades.
