LeToya Luckett Stars in Lifetime Thriller ‘The Millwood Murders: Buried Truth’

Lifetime is kicking off the new year with another high-stakes thriller led by a Black woman at the center of its emotional and narrative core.

The Millwood Murders: Buried Truth, starring LeToya Luckett, is set to premiere Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 8/7c on Lifetime.

The film follows a prosecutor whose personal and professional lives collide in devastating ways. After testifying against her husband and helping send him to death row, she believes justice has been served—until her daughter suddenly disappears just days before his scheduled execution. As panic sets in, new evidence forces her to confront a terrifying possibility: the real murderer may still be at large.

With time running out and her daughter’s life on the line, she must unravel the truth she once believed was settled, outwit a killer hiding in plain sight, and confront the consequences of her own testimony before it’s too late.

Luckett leads the thriller alongside Rainbow Sun Francks and Amanda Thamage, anchoring a story rooted in themes of motherhood, justice, and the emotional cost of certainty in a flawed system.

While The Millwood Murders: Buried Truth is a fictional story, it taps into the tension and moral complexity that have become staples of Lifetime’s recent programming—particularly its growing slate of thrillers centered on Black women navigating extraordinary circumstances.

The film continues Lifetime’s push toward emotionally charged storytelling that places Black women not on the margins, but at the center of its most urgent narratives.

The Millwood Murders: Buried Truth premieres January 25 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
