LL Cool J is going from LA to Hawaii!

Fresh off his remarkable 14-year run as Special Agent Sam Hanna on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” LL Cool J made a bacon-saving cameo during the season finale of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” only 24 hours after bidding farewell to his iconic role. And the good news doesn’t end there—LL Cool J will be joining the island-set spinoff as a recurring guest star in the upcoming third season.

In the gripping Season 2 finale episode titled “Dies Irae,” viewers witnessed Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant (played by the talented Vanessa Lachey) facing off against a pair of adversaries. Just when the odds seemed overwhelming, a sniper shot rang out from a nearby hill, taking down one of the assailants. To everyone’s surprise, the shooter turned out to be none other than Special Agent Sam Hanna, who contacted Jane to offer his future services and reference the events of the “NCIS: Los Angeles” series finale, which had left him and Callen in Morocco on a mission to save Hetty.

However, as the “NCIS: Hawai’i” finale reached its climax, it became apparent that Supervisory Agent John Swift (portrayed by the brilliant Henry Ian Cusick) would be the one to tap into Sam’s extensive expertise. While Jane fretted over the consequences of allowing superspy Maggie Shaw to slip away, Swift was seen on the phone discussing the idea of “plus-ing up the team” in Pearl Harbor and expressing his notion of who that might entail.

In an exclusive interview with TVLine, Vanessa Lachey, the leading lady of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” expressed her excitement about LL Cool J (also known as Todd Smith) joining the cast for Season 3. She highlighted the opportunity to continue evolving the “NCIS” franchise and the perfect fit of having Sam Hanna join the team. While she remained tight-lipped about the specifics of Sam’s role, she emphasized the fun and camaraderie they would have on set, citing the joy and laughter experienced during the triple crossover event and the announcement of Todd’s addition to the team.

The success of the triple crossover undoubtedly played a significant role in building anticipation for LL Cool J’s move to Hawai’i, as Vanessa Lachey noted the positive reception and enjoyment of working across the “NCIS” universe. With LL Cool J’s immense talent and magnetic presence, “NCIS: Hawai’i” Season 3 is gearing up to be an exhilarating chapter in the franchise. Alongside the exceptional performances of Vanessa Lachey and Tori Anderson, the series boasts an outstanding ensemble cast, including Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, and Jason Antoon. Together, they form an unstoppable team ready to unravel mysteries on the captivating shores of Hawai’i.

The announcement of LL Cool J’s surprise cameo in the Season 2 finale and his subsequent involvement in the third season of “NCIS: Hawai’i” has created a wave of anticipation and excitement among fans. The production team and executive producers Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, and Christopher Silber expressed their thrill and honor at having LL Cool J’s remarkable talent become a part of the “NCIS: Hawai’i” ‘ohana’ (family) for the upcoming season.

With LL Cool J’s electrifying presence and the fusion of the beloved “NCIS” franchise, “NCIS: Hawai’i” is poised to deliver non-stop action
