Megan Thee Stallion and PSY Unite West and East in Apple TV+’s Musical Battle Series ‘KPOPPED’ [TRAILER]

What do you get when global music legends and K-pop’s hottest idols collide on stage? According to Apple TV+, you get KPOPPED — a genre-blending, eight-part musical competition series debuting August 29, with all episodes dropping at once.

Hosted by actor-comedian Soojeong Son (Search Party, Servant), KPOPPED is led by international sensation PSY and Grammy-winning icon Megan Thee Stallion — both of whom also serve as executive producers alongside Lionel Richie and Korean media powerhouse Miky Lee.

The series brings together iconic Western artists with K-pop supergroups to reimagine some of the most recognizable pop hits of all time. Each episode pairs a Western music star — including Megan, TLC, J Balvin, Patti LaBelle, Kylie Minogue, Eve, Vanilla Ice, Kesha, and Boyz II Men — with a top-tier K-pop act like ITZY, ATEEZ, Kep1er, Billlie, STAYC, Kiss of Life, BLACKSWAN, and JO1. Together, they rework a career-defining track into a new K-pop-infused version and battle it out on stage in front of a live Seoul audience.

And it’s not just for show — the audience picks the winner of each “K-popped” remix showdown, while the K-pop group closes out the night with a final performance.

Expect bold and unexpected matchups — like ITZY teaming up with the Spice Girls’ Mel B and Emma Bunton for a 2025 take on “Wannabe,” or ATEEZ linking up with J Balvin and Kylie Minogue. Other standout songs getting the K-pop makeover treatment include “Savage,” “Lady Marmalade,” “Ice Ice Baby,” “Motownphilly,” “Waterfalls,” and more.

KPOPPED is produced by CJ ENM and Eureka Productions (a Fremantle company), with Moira Ross, Greg Foster, Harry H.K. Shin, Jake Hong, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, David Tibballs, and Bruce Eskowitz joining Richie, Lee, and Stallion as executive producers.

It’s an all-out, culture-crossing celebration of sound — blending nostalgia with new-school flair and giving global hits a K-pop twist we didn’t know we needed.
