Kelly Rowland is back to star in and executive produce the fourth installment of Lifetime’s Merry Liddle Christmas movie franchise: Merry Liddle Christmas Vacation.
Merry Liddle Christmas Vacation follows the Liddle family as they embark on a family vacation for the holidays, with tensions rising as Jacquie (Rowland) feels her husband Tyler is prioritizing work over family time. Despite the chaos of the season, the Liddles come to a deeper understanding of each other and all their small blessings, completing their big Liddle family.
Led by Executive Producer and star Kelly Rowland, the Merry Liddle Christmas franchise has become a staple of Lifetime’s holiday programming. The first movie, Merry Liddle Christmas, premiered in 2019 and introduced audiences to Jacquie Liddle, a successful tech entrepreneur who struggles to balance work and family during the holidays. The film was a hit with viewers, prompting Lifetime to order a sequel.
Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding followed in 2020 and saw Jacquie and Tyler’s relationship put to the test when the couple’s wedding plans are thrown into disarray. The movie continued to build on the heartwarming family dynamic with the third installment, Merry Liddle Christmas Baby. That film aired in 2021 and introduced the newest addition to the Liddle family, twin babies. The film saw Jacquie juggle the demands of motherhood while trying to keep her business afloat and navigate her relationship with Tyler.
The fourth installment of the Merry Liddle Christmas movies franchise is currently in development with production scheduled to start later this year. The now-holiday staple will premiere as a tentpole movie for 2023’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime holiday slate.
The film is produced by MarVista Entertainment for Lifetime, with Andrea Stevens and King Hassan writing the script, and a director yet to be announced. The executive producers include Kelly Rowland, Larry Grimaldi, Ani Kevork, Hannah Pillemer, Fernando Szew, and Loretha Jones. EVP, Scripted Content, Tanya Lopez expresses her enthusiasm for the next movie of this fantastic holiday movie franchise and continuing the story of the Liddles.
