Michael B. Jordan continues his journey as John Clark in Paramount’s adaptation of Tom Clancy novel Rainbow Six.

The film will serve as a follow-up to the 2021 adaptation of Clancy’s novel Without Remorse, which Jordan starred in as Clark, the Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative. John Wick director Chad Stahelski is helming the project.

Plot details are under wraps but Jordan will reprise his role as John Kelly (formally John Clark) aka Rainbow Six, the leader of the secret, multi-national counterterrorism strike force Rainbow. In the novel, Rainbow Six, it details how Kelly forms the Rainbow team and uncovers a global terrorist plot to wipe out humanity.

Jordan debuted as Clark in the Stefano Sollima-helmed Without Remorse. The film served as an origin story of sorts for Clark (and Kelly), who uncovers an international conspiracy while on a mission of revenge.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Without Remorse was released direct-to-streaming via Amazon Prime; however, Paramount intends to release Rainbow Six theatrically.

John Clark is one of Clancy’s more popular characters, who appeared in the late author’s Jack Ryan spy books. Clark also had his own novels, Without Remorse and Rainbow Six, with the latter spawning a line of video games. The shooter video game — released by developer Red Storm Entertainment in 1998 — gave players control of Rainbow team members on painstakingly planned, highly tactical missions.

Jordan will produce Rainbow Six with Elizabeth Raposo via the duo’s Outlier Society banner. Akiva Goldsman and Greg Lessans via Weed Road Pictures are also producing. As well as Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec through The Saw Mill.

Stahelski will executive produce under his 87Eleven Entertainment alongside cohorts Jason Spitz and Alex Young.
